PENINGKATAN KESADARAN PENTINGNYA KESEHATAN MENTAL DI MASYARAKAT

Abstract


The high number of people with mental health disorders makes every individual have to increase awareness of the importance of mental health. Individuals who are mentally healthy can use their potential to solve problems in their lives and can relate well to other individuals. The importance of health needs to be instilled in every individual. Law Number 18 of 2014 concerning Mental Health in article 1 paragraph 4 states that mental health efforts are any activities aimed at realizing an optimal degree of mental health for every individual, family, and community through promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative approaches that organized in an integrated, continuous, and comprehensive manner by the Government, Regional Government or the Community. Based on the article, to increase awareness of the importance of mental health, an activity for a mental health campaign is needed. The purpose of this activity is to add insight and increase public awareness regarding mental health. The method used begins with finding volunteers to distribute pamphlets containing mental health materials. Next, volunteers conducted a survey on Instagram regarding how aware people are about mental health. Finally, volunteers expressed opinions based on their understanding of mental health. The results obtained from this activity were as many as 176 out of 201 people or 87.5% who were aware of mental health.
