Implementation of Group Discussion Method in Sociology Lessons to Improve Students' Learning Performance

Abstract


This study aims to find out how the implementation of group discussion method in sociology lessons can improve students' learning performance in class X Ibnu Rusydi, SMA Negeri 4 Pangkep. This research is a collaborative classroom action research (PTKK). The research location was at SMA Negeri 4 Pangkep, precisely in the Labakkang District of Pangkep Regency. The subjects in this study were 33 students in class X Ibnu Rusydi. The research was carried out from May to June 2023.
The results of this study show that based on the observations obtained during cycle 1 and continued in cycle 2, there was a change that the average score of students increased from 80.09 in cycle 1 to 86.81 in cycle 2. This indicates that the group discussion method can be applied in class so that the group discussion learning model can improve the learning performance of students in class X Ibnu Rusydi at SMA Negeri 4 Pangkep.
