Abstract

History learning in higher education often faces challenges in increasing student interest and involvement, especially with teaching methods that still seem conventional. This article discusses innovations made by history teachers at MAN 1 Makassar and SMA Negeri 23 Makassar in developing more interesting and effective history learning models. The focus of this study is to identify the application of technology, active and collaborative learning approaches, and project-based learning in history teaching. Through a qualitative case study, data were collected through interviews with history teachers, classroom observations, and documentation related to the learning models applied. The results of the study indicate that the application of technology, such as the use of online learning platforms and Edu Virtual Laboratory History, as well as project-based and collaborative learning methods, successfully increased students' interest and understanding of history materials. These innovations create a more interactive and relevant learning experience, which encourages students to be more involved in the learning process. Thus, this article suggests that other schools can adopt similar learning models to improve the quality of history education in Indonesia.
