Abstract


The problem in this research is the low interest in learning science class V SDN 2 Tondon, Tondon District, North Toraja Regency. The formulation in this research is how to apply leanrning  video media to increase student’s interest in learning science class V SDN 2 Tondon, Tondon District, North Toraja Regency. Purpose of this research was to describe the application of learning video media in increasing student’s interest in learning science class V SDN 2 Tondon, Tondon District, North Toraja Regency. The approach chosen in the implementation of this research is a qualitative approach, this type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). Video media is a media that includes audio-visual that can display images and sound simultaneously. The advantages of video media which can display images along with sound make video media widely used as a medium in learning. Through video learning media will help students to understand subject matter in a more concrete. The research subjects were teachers and grade V students of SDN 2 Tondon, Tondon District, North Toraja Regency with a total of 22 students consisting of 12 girls and 10 boys. Teacher’s  activity data and student activities were obtained through observation sheets and questionnaires on students' science learning interest. The results of interest in learning science in the first cycle of meetings 1 and 2 have not been successful but in the second cycle meetings 1 and 2 have increased and are categorized as successful. Thus it can be concluded that the application of instructional video media can increase interest in learning science class V SDN 2 Tondon, Tondon District, North Toraja Regency.
