Abstract


This Classroom Action Research aims to improve the activeness and learning outcomes of Class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Menukung through the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model in science learning, especially the submaterial of the Blood Circulatory System and Efforts to Overcome Abnormalities in the Blood Circulatory System in Humans. The research subjects were 22 students of class VIIIA SMP Negeri 2 Menukung. Data were collected during three learning cycles using observation sheets of discussion activities and student interaction with the teacher, as well as evaluation questions to measure learning outcomes on the material of the circulatory system. The results showed an increase in student learning outcomes from cycle I as many as 7 out of 22 students with a percentage of completeness of 31.81%, while completeness in cycle II was 18 out of 22 students with a percentage of 81.82%. and there was an increase in student learning activities, students' enthusiasm in participating in Integrated Science learning in cycle I 50.15% and increased in cycle II to 80.05%. The results of this study indicate that the application of the PBL learning model can improve science learning outcomes and student activeness in the Blood Circulatory System material in class VIIA students of SMP Negeri 2 Menukung.
