Abstract


This study aims at improving the students’ learning result on the implementation of Problem Based Learning ( PBL ) method in Science Subjects of Heat and Transfer materials. It is Classroom Action Research ( CAR ) conducted for the seventh year students of SMP N 1 Sandai. The action consisted of three cycles. The researcher took 12 students as the subject of the research. The methods of collecting data using descriptive analysis such as students worksheet, score list, and observation. The result of the research shows that, by implementing of Problem Based Learning (PBL) in Science Subject, the students have chance to be active and cooperative in teaching process. It can be seen from the result of the students result in every cycle. From the improvemet in the percentage of implementation this method, also influence the completeness of students result. It can be seen from the improvement in the percentage of completeness in every cycle. The percentage of the first cycle is 25 %, the second cycle is 50%, and the third cycle is 58 %. It can be concluded that the implementation of Problem Based Learning ( PBL ) can be used to improving students learning result of seventh year students at SMP N 1 Sandai.
