Abstract


This study aims to determine: (1) the increase in Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) of class VIII students of SMPN 33 Makassar after the application of science learning module assisted by Quick Response Code, (2) the effect size category of science learning module assisted by Quick Response Code to improve Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) of students and (3) is there a average difference in Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) of class VIII students of SMPN 33 Makassar before and after the application of science learning module assisted by Quick Response Code. This research is a Pre-Experiment Research with One Group Pre-test Posttest Design research design. The population was all students of class VIII SMPN 33 Makassar, the sample was selected using Random Sampling technique so that 1 class was selected with a total of 27 students. The instruments in this study were pretest tests and posttest tests in the form of multiple choice questions. Data analysis techniques are descriptive and inferential. The results of the study found: (1) The average increase (N-Gain) of Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) of VIII grade students of SMPN 33 Makassar after the application of Science Learning Module assisted by Quick Response Code is in the medium category with a score of 0.31, (2) Effect size of the application of Science Learning Module assisted by Quick Response Code is in the strong effect category with a score of 3.13 and (3) There is a significant average difference in Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) of VIII grade students of SMPN 33 Makassar after the application of Science Learning Module assisted by Quick Response Code.
