Abstract

Balanced nutritional status is one of the important
things in the success of education of students. It is because
those nutrients are brain-forming materials and other organs
that are related to the growth and development of children.
Moreover, balanced nutritional plays a role in the formation of
children's immunity. This means that the nutrition consumed is
not only sufficient in number but must be balanced with the
activities carried out so that the continuity of the children's
education process can run well. This activity aims to provide
counseling to Science teachers who are members of the
MGMP in Selayar Islands Regency on how to monitor or
check children's health in general and analyze the nutritional
status of early childhood based on anthropometric
measurements (body weight and height). The method used is
direct observational nature that is natural and pleasant. In
addition, the methods used were interviews and interactive
discussions between participants and the committee
(implementation team) and between participants and
participants. The counseling participants were 25 Science
teachers. Based on the observation conducted by the
committee, it was found that participants were able to assess
the balanced nutritional status. The participants could detect
the children's health status by recognizing children's physical
signs and were able to measure anthropometric status based on
body weight and height. Furthermore, the results of physical
examination and anthropometric measurements were analyzed
to determine whether a student had a balanced nutritional
status or not. The training participants were very enthusiastic
about participating in this activity. They actively discussed and
did the anthropometry measurement alternately among
participants. Some participants requested additional time to get
more information about balanced nutrition.
