Sistem informasi dan manajemen perpustakaan di Sekolah Menengah Atas

Abstract

The program of community partnership (PKM) to
develop library information systems and school library
management training were carried out in SMAN 5
Tinggimoncong, Gowa district. The identification of partner
problems were 1) The school does not have a library
information system so that services cannot be effective and
efficient, (2) The school library managers need assistance in
managing school library automation, (3) Need to order and
monitor the book collections, book lending, and library visits
quickly. Through this PKM activity, it is expected to be able to
develop the library information system and to train library
managers able to manage IT-based libraries. In addition,
students can borrow, search collections quickly using library
applications, and the school principals and head of library can
monitor the collection progress, lending, and library visits in
real-time. The results obtained from this training activity show
that, 1) the availability of library information systems makes it
easier to search and borrow books, 2) the users can use the
library information system, and 3) the catalog library books
already embedded into the system, therefore the services is
easy to monitor and manage.
