Abstract


Abstract: The results of this study are class action research (Classroom Action Research) which aims to improve the main science learning outcomes of the material relationship between style, gravity, friction and magnetism and its function in the fifth grade students of Lauwa Elementary School in Biringbulu District, Gowa Regency through the application of models jigsaw type learning. The research subjects were fifth grade students of Lauwa Elementary School, Kecing Biringbulu, Gowa Regency in the even semester of the academic year 2012/2013 with a total of 27 students. This research was conducted in 2 cycles, each cycle carried out 4 times. Data retrieval is done by using test results of learning, observation and lift. Data collected from the learning outcomes were analyzed using quantitative analysis techniques and observational data were analyzed using qualitative analysis techniques. The results of the study on the fifth grade students of the Biringbulu District Elementary School in Gowa Regency through the application of the jigsaw type cooperative learning model experienced an increase in science learning outcomes. This can be seen in the table and explanation of cycle I and cycle II for each action. In cycle I with an average value of 84%. This means, students experience an increase in learning outcomes by 19%. In an effort to improve science learning outcomes at all levels of education, one of the efforts that can be done is to improve teacher competency in their respective fields.
