ANALISIS IKLIM SEKOLAH DI SEKOLAH MENENGAH KEJURUAN NEGERI 2 BUKITTINGGI

Abstract


This study is to describe teachers’ perception about the actual and prefered school climate at the Vocational Senior High School 2 (SMK 2) in Bukittinggi with indicators supported, afiliation, trust, staff freedom, work pressure, and physical comfort. This study used quantitave descriptive method. The population were all teachers at the SMK 2 Bukittinggi numbered 95 person, and the sample were 50 teachers which has been taken by using simple random sampling technique. The instrument of this research was questionnaire using differential semantic scale model that had been tested for its validity and reliability. Collected data were analyzed by finding out the level of achievement. The results shown that teachers have percieved significanty different between the actual school climate with the prefered one. The level of achievement for the actual school climate is 64.51%; while the level of achievement for the prefered school climate is 89.24%. It means that according to teachers, the actual school climate is not really yet condusive as it is expected. Therefore, it is suggested that the school climate at the SMK 2 need to be improved.
