Abstract


This study aims to determine the characteristics of the magnetic anomaly distribution of minerals from the subsurface and to identify the composition of rock samples and surface morphology in the geothermal area of Makula Village using the SEM-EDS (Scanning Electron Microscopy-Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy) method. Based on direct observation, the highest temperature obtained from the geothermal area of Makula Village is 43,6oC. The geothermal area of Makula Village Tana Toraja has the characteristics of various magnetic anomaly values ranging from -340,5 nT up to 1015,8 nT. The results of the A and B cross-section modeling using the Oasis software show that the structure of the rocks below the surface to the maximum depth, obtained some form of anomalous bodies namely, calcite, clay, coal, andesite breccia, basalt, and granite. The SEM-EDS test results show that the microstructure of rock samples is generally irregularly shaped with varying sizes and dominated by magnesium and silicon.
