Jurnal Office: Jurnal Pemikiran Ilmiah dan Pendidikan Administrasi Perkantoran published by the process of peer review and open access with ISSN (online): 22722-3655 and ISSN (Print): 2460-0067 is a publication media to channel the scientific work of lecturers, theoretical, and practitioners in the field of administrative science, management science, public policy, and other relevant activities.

This journal is published by the Program Studi Pendidikan Administrasi Perkantoran Universitas Negeri Makassar. Publish the results of research, original thinking, development, teaching, popular writing, and book studies in the field of public administration science.

Peer Review Process

Jurnal Office: Jurnal Pemikiran Ilmiah dan Pendidikan Administrasi Perkantoran operates a double blind peer-review system, while increasing the efficiency of the process. All research articles published in the Jurnal Office: Jurnal Pemikiran Ilmiah dan Pendidikan Administrasi Perkantoran undergo full peer review, key characteristics of which are listed below:

Peer review of referred papers:

It is the statement of ethics for the Jurnal Office: Jurnal Pemikiran Ilmiah dan Pendidikan Administrasi Perkantoran published by Research and Education Development (READ) Institute collaborating with the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training of IAIN Palopo. This statement was adapted from the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) GUIDELINES ON GOOD PUBLICATION PRACTICE and covered the code of ethics for Editor in Chief, Editorial Board members, Managing Editor, Section Editor, Reviewers, and Authors. Ethical Guidelines in Journal Publications

Articles published in the International Journal of Asian Education are an essential building block in developing a coherent and respected network of knowledge on education, and those are a direct reflection of the writer's and institutions' quality. It is, therefore, necessary to agree upon standards of expected ethical behavior for all parties involved in the act of publishing. The International Journal of Asian Education is committed to guaranteeing that all procedures are directed merely to facilitate objective and intellectual treatment.

Before publishing both online and in print for the Jurnal Office: Jurnal Pemikiran Ilmiah dan Pendidikan Administrasi Perkantoran, the Editor in Chief in charge of publishing asks for input from other editors and support for suggestions from reviewers. Further, the editors and reviewers evaluate manuscripts without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or specific political and group interest. Conflicts of Interest

Occur when outside issues affect, or are perceived to affect, the neutrality or objectivity of research. It may occur at any stage of the research cycle, for example, while the manuscript is being written or converting a manuscript to a published article. Conflicts of interest do not always stop work from being published or prevent someone from being involved in the review process. First, however, they must be declared. An explicit declaration of all possible conflicts – whether they had any influence or not – allows others to make informed decisions about the work and its review process.

If conflicts of interest are identified after publication, the Jurnal Office: Jurnal Pemikiran Ilmiah dan Pendidikan Administrasi Perkantoran will take the action such as publish a corrigendum, or erratum, or even retraction a while to reassess the review process.

  • Intellectual property – an individual puts undue emphasis on patents or trademarks that they own or are owned by their organization.
  • Affiliations – an individual is employed by or is a member of an organization with an interest in the research outcome.
  • Ideology – an individual is influenced by beliefs or associations relating to the subject of the research.

Duties Of Chief Editor

  1. Evaluate manuscripts fairly and solely on their intellectual merit.
  2. Ensure confidentiality of manuscripts and not disclose any information regarding documents to anyone other than the people involved in the publishing process.
  3. Has the responsibility to decide when and which articles are to be published.
  4. Actively seek the views of board members, reviewers, and authors on how to improve/ increase the image and visibility of the journal.
  5. Give clear instructions to potential contributors to the submission process and what is expected of the authors.

Duties Of Editorial Board Members

  1. The editor is responsible for helping or giving suggestions to the Editor in Chief for deciding which articles are suitable for publication through editorial board meetings
  2. Selecting the appropriate reviewer who will evaluate the manuscript
  3. Actively contribute to the development and the greater good of the journal.
  4. Act as ambassadors for the journal.
  5. Continuously support and promote the journal.
  6. Review any work assigned to them.

Duties of Managing Editor

  1. Plan and manage all daily operations.
  2. Hire, coach, and supervise personnel in the Section Editor.
  3. Coordinate editorial publications and meetings
  4. Checking the manuscript submission from authors, inform the Editor in Chief and assign the Editorial board to handle the manuscript.
  5. Checking and ensuring the web journals can be accessed online

Duties of Section editor

  1. Proofread text and correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors after revision and before publication.
  2. Verify factual correctness of the information, such as dates and statistics before publication.
  3. Check the manuscript text for style, readability, and adherence to editorial policies before publication

Duties of Authors

  1. Have the responsibility of ensuring only new and original work is submitted. (do not contain plagiarism)
  2. Must not reproduce work that has been previously published in other journals.
  3. Must not submit any articles that are being reviewed or considered by the journal to other journals simultaneously.
  4. Authors are only allowed to publish their work elsewhere after receiving a formal rejection from the Jurnal Office: Jurnal Pemikiran Ilmiah dan Pendidikan Administrasi Perkantoran or if the Jurnal Office: Jurnal Pemikiran Ilmiah dan Pendidikan Administrasi Perkantoran officially accepts their request to withdraw their paper.
  5. Must inform the Chief Editor or the publisher of any inaccuracy of data in their published work so that correction or retraction of the article can be done.
  6. Should make significant contributions and be held accountable for any shortcomings in their work.

Duties of Reviewers

  1. Must disclose any competing interest before agreeing to review a submission.
  2. Reviewers can refuse to review any submission due to a conflict of interest or inadequate knowledge.
  3. Review all submissions objectively, fairly, and professionally.
  4. Reveal any ethical misconduct encountered while reviewing to the Chief Editor for further action.
  5. Should ensure the originality of a submission and be alert to any plagiarism and redundant publication.
  6. Must not discuss the content of the submission without permission.
  7. Adhere to the time allocated for the review process. Requests for extension to review the submission are at the discretion of the Chief Editor.

 

Plagiarism Policy

Jurnal Office: Jurnal Pemikiran Ilmiah dan Pendidikan Administrasi Perkantoran board recognizes that plagiarism is not acceptable and therefore establishes the following policy stating specific actions (penalties) when plagiarism is identified in an article that is submitted for publication in the Program Studi Pendidikan Administrasi Perkantoran Universitas Negeri Makassar. All the manuscripts will be subjected to pre-screening of plagiarism check by using Ithenticate or Turnitin Software. The editor will conduct the screening process once the paper is received.


Definition:

Plagiarism involves the "use or close imitation of the language and thoughts of another author and the representation of them as one's original work."


Policy:

Papers must be original, unpublished, and not pending publication elsewhere. Any material taken verbatim from another source needs to be identified as different from the present original text by (1) indentation, (2) use of quotation marks, and (3) identification of the source. Any document of an amount exceeding fair use standards (herein defined as more than two or three sentences or the equivalent thereof) or any graphic material reproduced from another source requires permission from the copyright holder and, if feasible, the original author(s) and also involves identification of the source; e.g., previous publication. When plagiarism is identified, the Editor Chief responsible for the review of this paper and will agree on measures according to the extent of plagiarism detected in the article in agreement with the following guidelines:


Level of Plagiarism

> 1.Minor (25 - 35%):

A short section of another article is plagiarized without any significant data or idea taken from the other paper

Action: A warning is given to the authors and a request to revise the text and properly cite the original article is made

2.Intermediate (35-50%):

A significant portion of a paper is plagiarized without proper citation to the initial paper

Action: The submitted article is rejected, and the authors have to send another submission with revised version.

3. Severe (51-100%):

A significant portion of a paper is plagiarized that involves reproducing original results or ideas presented in another publication

Action: The paper is rejected, and the authors are forbidden to submit further articles for 6 months.


It is understood that all authors are responsible for the content of their submitted paper as they all checked the Jurnal Office: Jurnal Pemikiran Ilmiah dan Pendidikan Administrasi Perkantoran Checklist Form. If a penalty is imposed for plagiarism, all authors will be subject to the same punishment. If the second case of plagiarism by the same author(s) is identified, a decision on the measures to be enforced will be made by the Editorial board (Editor-in-Chief and Editorial members) with the Managing Editor. The author(s) might be forbidden to submit further articles forever. This policy also applies to material reproduced from another publication by the same author(s). If an author uses text or figures that have previously been published, the corresponding paragraphs or data should be identified and the previous publication referenced. It is understood that in the case of a review paper or a paper of tutorial nature, much of the material was previously published.

The author should identify the source of the previously published material and obtain permission from the original author and the publisher. If an author submits a manuscript to the Jurnal Office: Jurnal Pemikiran Ilmiah dan Pendidikan Administrasi Perkantoran with significant overlap with a document submitted to another journal simultaneously, and this overlap is discovered during the review process or after the publications of both papers, the editor of the other journal is notified, and the case is treated as a severe plagiarism case. Significant overlap means the use of identical or almost identical figures and identical or slightly modified text for one-half or more of the paper. For self-plagiarism of less than one-half of the paper but more than one-tenth of the article, the case shall be treated as intermediate plagiarism. If self-plagiarism is confined to the methods section, the matter shall be considered minor plagiarism.

If an author uses some of his previously published material to clarify the presentation of new results, the previously published article shall be identified, and the difference to the present publication shall be mentioned. Permission to republish must be obtained from the copyright holder. In the case of a manuscript that was originally published in conference proceedings and then is submitted for publication into Jurnal Office: Jurnal Pemikiran Ilmiah dan Pendidikan Administrasi Perkantoran either in identical or in expanded form, the authors must identify the name of the conference proceedings and the date of the printing and obtain permission to republish from the copyright holder. The editor may decide not to accept this paper for publication.

However, an author shall be permitted to use material from an unpublished presentation, including visual displays, in a subsequent journal publication. In the case of a paper being submitted, that was originally published in another language, the title, date, and journal of the original publication must be identified by the authors, and the copyright must be obtained. The editor may accept such a translated release to bring it to the attention of a wider audience. The editor may select a specific paper that had been published (e.g., a "historic" paper) for republication to provide a better perspective of a series of articles published in one issue of to Jurnal Office: Jurnal Pemikiran Ilmiah dan Pendidikan Administrasi Perkantoran. This republication shall be identified as such, and the date and journal of the original publication shall be given. The permission of the author(s) and the publisher shall be obtained.

The Jurnal Office: Jurnal Pemikiran Ilmiah dan Pendidikan Administrasi Perkantoran layout editor for the journal is responsible for maintaining the list of authors subjected to penalties and will check that no authors of a submitted paper are on this list. If a banned author is identified, the layout editor will inform the Editor-in-Chief who will take appropriate measures. This policy will be posted on the website with the instructions for submitting a manuscript, and a copy will be sent to the authors with the confirmation email upon initial receipt of their original paper. A sentence shall be added to the copyright transfer form to indicate that the author(s) have read the Plagiarism Policy.
