https://ojs.unm.ac.id/JEST/article/view/38935

This study aimed to develop a digital module for Digital Literacy for children and young people who were KPop fans in Makassar, to prevent cyberbullying. Data showed that that K-Pop fans consisting of children and teenagers in Indonesia were one of the largest Internet users in the world. The high use of the internet was also directly proportional to the cyberbullying that occured to them, not only as victims but also as perpetrators. This was the reason, why this study was important to investigate even though many researches on digital literacy had been carried out, but not many had been found specifically targeting KPop fans, while they were active internet users. This study was development research referring to the 4-D model (Four) that proposed by S. Thiagarajan and Semmel (1974), which consisted of 4 stages of development, namely the stage of defining (Define), Design , Development (Develop), and dissemination (Disseminate), then reduced to a 3-D model which only consisted of 3 stages of development, namely the stage of defining (Define), Design, Development (Develop). The results produced a Digital Literacy Module, which emphasized content on digital skills, consisting of Devices used, Search Engines, social media applications and online conversations and shopping, all of which were adapted to the characteristics of KPop Fans.

Citra Rosalyn AnwarArnidah ArnidahAsnur Lidayni

https://ojs.unm.ac.id/JEST/article/view/47299

This research aims to develop the capacity for peace among school counselors in implementing Merdeka Belajar. The findings reveal that teachers need improvement in understanding concepts and skills for peace which are assumed to be beneficial for themselves and the school. The research uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental one-group pretest posttest design. Participants in the study used convenient samples, 29 teachers of guidance and counseling at the Kulonprogo Junior High School. The training was divided into five sessions brainstorming, games, role playing, cinema therapy, and worksheet. The instrument used is the Peace Capacity Building Scale. Data analysis using t-test and ANOVA. Results show an increase in aspects of knowledge and skills. In addition, participants revealed that training is very important to be applied in the classroom and school. There are two outcomes achieved, namely the implementation agreement and articles published in journals.
Eva Imania EliasaAprilia Tina LidyasariYuli NurmalasariMutmainah Mutmainah

https://ojs.unm.ac.id/JEST/article/view/51107

The aim of this needs analysis is to investigate the potential of microlearning as a learning approach to prepare high school students for the TOEFL iBT. Microlearning is an instructional method that involves brief participation in an activity that is intended to yield a specific result. While prior research has shown its benefits in encouraging independent learning, reducing mental fatigue, and preventing demotivation and cognitive impairments, most studies have focused on adult learners, with only a small fraction conducted in high school settings. In Indonesia, certificates of English aptitude tests, such as TOEFL iBT, are necessary for higher education and job applications. However, the topic and skills are rarely discussed in schools, resulting in many high school graduates being unprepared for the exam. Typically, students resort to private institutions or tutors to acquire the necessary skills, but the associated costs and time commitment can be discouraging. Therefore, it is essential to examine the perceived importance of TOEFL iBT, learning difficulties, and learning preferences. The findings will inform recommendations on integrating microlearning into the existing educational framework. Future studies should explore microlearning themes further, expand research to high school context, and explore mobile-based microlearning.
Muhammad Faizal RizkyNurhikmah HFarida Febriati

https://ojs.unm.ac.id/JEST/article/view/54409

The aim of the research is is to investigate the influence of empathy, self-esteem, and intrapersonal peacefulness on the development of interpersonal communication skills in teachers engaged in guidance and counseling. The study's sample comprises guidance and counseling teachers who are currently employed at the junior high school and high school levels within the South Sulawesi region. The participant pool for this research consisted of 74 teachers, who were selected by accidental sampling. The present study uses four specific scales: the Interpersonal Reactivity Index (IRI), the Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale (RSES), the Self Personal Scale (SPS), and the Interpersonal Communication Scale (ICS). The presence of empathy and intrapersonal peacefulness has the potential to act as indicators for improving interpersonal communication abilities among guidance and counseling teachers in South Sulawesi. Other findings derived from the data analysis indicate that there were no statistically significant disparities observed in the duration of employment among guidance and counseling teachers across various factors, including empathy, self-esteem, intrapersonal peacefulness, and interpersonal communication. Significant disparities in levels of empathy have been identified between those identifying as female and male. Research has shown that female guidance and counseling teachers exhibit higher levels of empathy compared to their male colleagues within the same professional field. This study is the initial research in Indonesia that aims to uncover the communication abilities of guidance and counseling teachers, focusing on their individual levels of peacefulness, empathy, and self-esteem. With an emphasis on peacefulness, it is anticipated that this research will serve as a foundation for the development of new training programs designed to enhance the communication abilities of guidance and counseling teachers.

Sahril BuchoriNurfitriany FakhriRia Andriany Fakhri

https://ojs.unm.ac.id/JEST/article/view/56966

This study aims to test the effectiveness of utilizing the digital game Wordwall in improving students' vocabulary at SMAN 1 Gowa, specifically in class XI MIPA 3. The research method employed a pre-experimental approach with pretest and posttest measurements. The population for this study consisted of all students at SMAN 1 Gowa, while a random sample of 35 students was selected from Class XI MIPA 3. The analysis revealed that the mean score on the pretest was recorded as 82.34, whereas it increased significantly to 98.31 on the posttest. By conducting a paired-sample t-test statistical analysis with a significance level set at α = 0.05, a significant difference between the mean scores of the pretest and posttest was found (p <0.05). This indicates that using Wordwall as a digital game effectively enhances students' vocabulary. In conclusion, this research supports the hypothesis that employing Wordwall as a digital game can improve students' vocabulary at SMAN 1 Gowa. The positive outcomes resulting from an increase in posttest scores have important implications for English teachers who may consider incorporating game-based technology like Wordwall as an engaging and interactive tool for vocabulary learning.
Geminastiti SakkirNurhikma AzisBaso Jabu

This study aims to analyze the effect of target setting management on the academic development of teacher careers. This study uses a quantitative method with a survey approach. The sample technique is a systematic sampling based on the order of teacher data as many as 108 respondents. Data collection is done by distributing questionnaires through googleform. Data analysis was carried out with validity and reliability tests, linear regression analysis. The results of the study obtained the value of the correlation coefficient which was included in the sufficient category, and a positive value, and there was a significant influence between the target setting variables on the academic development of teacher careers.
