Abstract


Abstract. Project-Based Learning Model to Improve Academic Achievement of Mechanical Engineering Department Students. This study aims at examining the effectiveness of project-based learning model to improve the academic achievement of students majoring in mechanical engineering at Universitas Ndegeri Makassar. This study uses Dick & Carey’s model of instructional systems development. This study employs a pre-experimental design and data are subjected to the t-test. The results show that (1) Project-Based Learning model (PBL) that has been developed meet acceptance criteria, which include such aspects as usability, accuracy and feasibility, (2) there is a difference in mean scores between pretest (62.3) and posttest (81.58) on knowledge of machine design.

Abstrak.  Model Project Based Learning untuk Meningkatkan Prestasi Akademik Mahasis-wa Jurusan Teknik Mesin. Penelitian ini  bertujuan mengetahui efektivitas model project-based learning untuk meningkatkan prestasi akademik mahasiswa Jurusan Teknik Mesin UNM. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan sistem instruksional Dick & Carey. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan pra-eksperimen dan menggunakan analisis data dengan t -test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) model Project-Based Learning (PM-PBL) yang dikembangkan telah memenuhi kriteria keberterimaan, yang meliputi aspek: kegunaan, ketepatan dan kelayakan, (2) terdapat perbedaan skor rata–rata  pretest dan postest untuk pengetahuan perancangan mesin.  Skor mean pretest yaitu sebesar  62,3 dan mean skor postestnya adalah sebesar 81,58.
