PENGARUH PENAMBAHAN ABU SEKAM PADI TERHADAP SIFAT MEKANIK DAN STRUKTIR MIKRO GEOPOLIMER BERBAHAN DASAR LEMPUNG LATERITE

Abstract


This research was amied to study the influence of rice husk ash addittion to the mechanical and micro structure properties of geopolymer based on laterite soil. Geopolymers were synthesized through alkali activation method of laterite soil varying the amount of rise husk ash mass (0%, 1.5%, 3%, 4.5% and 6%) relative to the mass of laterite. The addition of 4.5% rice husk ash showed the highest comppressive strength namely 41.07 Mpa. The result of X-Ray diffraction analysis phased that the presence of rise husk ash did not change the structure of geopolymers. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was used to study to morphology of geopolymers.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan abu sekam padi terhadap sifat mekanik geopolimer berbahan dasar lempung laterite. dan  untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi penambahan abu sekam  padi terhadap struktur mikro geopolimer berbahan dasar lempung laterite. Sintesis geopolimer dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode aktivasi alkali berbahan dasar lempung laterite dengan menvariasikan penambahan abu sekam padi (0%, 1.5%, 3%, 4.5% dan 6%) yang di panaskan pada suhu 200oC selam 4 jam. Dengan penambahan abu sekam padi 4.5% memiliki kekuatan tekan tertinggi yaitu sebesar 41.07 MPa. Hasil analisis X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) memperlihatkan fase amorf dan seiring penambahan abu sekam padi  relatif terhadap massa bahan dasar tidak menunjukkan adanya perubahan fase dan struktur yang terbentuk. Citra SEM menunjukkan morfologi dari geopolimer seiring penambahan abu sekam padi  relatif terhadap massa bahan dasar.
