PENINGKATAN KETERAMPILAN PROSES FISIKA MELALUI PENDEKATAN ILMIAH PESERTA DIDIK KELAS X SMA NEGERI 1 SUNGGUMINASA

Abstract


This research was a classroom action research that aims to improve physics science process skills through scientific approach for students of class X SMA Negeri 1 Sungguminasa Gowa. There were 50 students of class X SMA Negeri 1 Sungguminasa as subject of this research. Implementation of action research consisted of two cycles. In cycle I, we taught the students uniform rectilinear motion and uniform accelerated motion. In cycle II we taught Newton’s First Law, Newton’s Seconds Law, and Newton Third Law. The result of the research found that in order to improve the physical science process skills using a scientific approach, it is necessary to note some aspects which were: performing physical science process skills indicators; explaining the criteria of scoring rubric; perform immediate feedback; delivering task and responsibilities for each member of the group; paying attention to the level of students' academic ability, giving a simple experiment that did not take too long time to do, choosing material which could be taught simultaneously or in parallel way, in order to minimize the time. The research result showed that learning by applying scientific activity could improve science process skills.

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains fisika melalui pendekatan ilmiah peserta didik kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Sungguminasa Kabupaten Gowa. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 50 peserta didik kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Sungguminasa. Pelaksanaan penelitian tindakan kelas terdiri dari dua siklus. Siklus I mengajarkan materi pelajaran gerak lurus beraturan dan gerak lurus berubah beraturan. Siklus II  mengajarkan materi hukum I newton, hukum II newton dan hukum III newton. Hasil penelitan ditemukan bahwa untuk meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains fisika dengan menggunakan pendekatan ilmiah maka perlu diperhatikan beberapa aspek diantaranya adalah: melatihkan indikator-indikator keterampilan proses sains fisika; menjelaskan kriteria-kriteria rubrik pemberian skor;  melakukan feedback secepatnya;  memberikan tugas dan tanggungjawab setiap anggota kelompok; memperhatikan tingkat kemampuan akademik peserta didik; percobaan sederhana yang tidak membutuhkan waktu terlalu lama dilakukan, dan  materi pelajaran dapat diajarkan secara serentak atau paralel,  sehingga waktu yang digunakan dalam mengajarkan beberapa sub bab tidak lama. Pembelajaran dengan menerapkan kegiatan ilmiah dapat meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains.
